Telecom Service Fees



Government related fees: these are fees collected and retained by NT Connect to help recover certain costs we have already incurred and continue to incur associated with regular government and 3rd party compliance assessments. More on that below.


Telecommunications Recovery Fee – NT Connect uses this fee to recover certain costs associated with taxes, fees and surcharges imposed by state, county, parish, borough, district and municipal governments, such as state universal service funds, local 911 services, sales and utility taxes and other local taxes, fees and surcharges, based on the registered location of your NT Connect device.

Regulatory Compliance Fee – NT Connect uses this fee to recover certain costs associated with compliance with regulatory, legal and tax requirements including: (1) fees NT Connect is required to pay to support the TRS fund, which supports facilities and services used to provide telecommunications services for individuals with hearing or speech disabilities; (2) annual regulatory fees assessed on NT Connect by the Federal Communications Commission; (3) costs NT Connect incurs administering, billing, collecting and making required tax and regulatory filings and complying with other regulations; (4) regulatory surcharges NT Connect pays to the providers of telecommunications that NT Connect uses to provide its services.

Federal Program Fee – NT Connect uses this fee to recover certain costs to administer contributions NT Connect is required to make to the federal Universal Service Fund, which provides support to promote access to telecommunications services at reasonable rates for those living in rural and high-cost areas, income-eligible consumers, rural health care facilities, and schools and libraries.

Emergency 911 Services Fee – NT Connect uses this fee to recover its costs of providing E911 service for NT Connect customers as required by Federal Communications Commission regulations.
Processing transaction fee: these are fees associated with regulatory payment fees, credit card and banking transaction fees.

Universal connectivity chg. fee – NT Connect uses this fee to recover certain costs to administer contributions NT Connect is required to make to the federal Universal Service Fund, which provides support to promote access to telecommunications services at reasonable rates for those living in rural and high-cost areas, income-eligible consumers, rural health care facilities, and schools and libraries.

Regulatory compliance & intellectual property fee – NT Connect uses this fee to recover certain costs related to regulatory, legal, intellectual property and compliance-related expenses, including those related to customer privacy protection, anti-fraud protection, and innovation, all of which enable our services to enhance your communication experience.

Information services fee – NT Connect uses this fee to recover certain costs related to information services, including unlimited directory assistance, and information technology.

Network services fee – NT Connect uses this fee to recover certain costs related to network access services, including network equipment costs required to access local, regional and global networks.
